These are the days where Professional skills are more important than just possessing a Post Graduate Degree. The Market looks at the student who possesses the Professional skills and the soft skills to survive in the Placement market.
Based on the concept of bridging the gap between academic skills of students and the skills required by industries or by the job market, and keeping the above scenario in view, the college has setup a separate Placement and soft skills trainingwing and christened it as the Placement Cell. The cell is provided with a full time Placement officer with necessary support to take up the task of nurturing the students according to the demands of the job market.
The activities are broadly divided into two categories, viz. Training and Placement.
Sindhi Institute of Management has entered into working relationship with the top companies of the country as regards Placements. Placement Cell is consistently working in getting different companies from various industries to the campus and providing a platform for the students to choose a right career according to their knowledge & Skills.
Placement Training :
Sindhi Institute of Management provides Placement Training to its students which is programmed with academics so that it is an ongoing programme. The training happens over 4 semesters to the tune of 120 hours at the rate of 30 hours per semester. Students are put through different aspects of training intended towards a holistic development. Quantitative Aptitude, Mental Ability Skills, Logical Reasoning, as well as enhancement of Practical Application Skills form the base. Concentrating on Effective Communication, Conversational Skills, Communication Skills(Verbal and Non Verbal), Time Management, Team Work and Goal Setting, Role Play, Art of Persuasion, Negotiation Skill, and Crisis and Conflict Management skills, , Presentation Skills, Motivation, Dressing Sense / Table Manners, Leadership Skills, Outbound Training, Continuous Assignments, The training modules are very effective in transforming the students to industry worthy and industry ready citizens.
